The Johari Window's blind spot quadrant contains what others see in you but you cannot see in yourself. For ISTPs, these blind spots are largely driven by the inferior function: Extraverted Feeling (Fe). The very strengths of Introverted Thinking create corresponding weaknesses that are invisible to the ISTP.

This is the most common blind spot reported by people close to ISTPs. Because Introverted Thinking dominates their perception, they often do not realize how emotional expression affects their relationships and decisions.

2. Long-term commitment

Rooted in the Fe inferior position, this blind spot becomes most visible when ISTPs are under pressure. Others often notice it long before the ISTP does.

3. Sensitivity to others

This blind spot is a direct trade-off for the ISTP's strengths in practical intelligence. The same cognitive patterns that create excellence here create vulnerability there.

The Inferior Extraverted Feeling (Fe)

The inferior function is the root cause of most blind spots. For ISTPs, Extraverted Feeling sits in the fourth position, meaning it is conscious but underdeveloped. It operates clumsily compared to the dominant Introverted Thinking, creating specific struggles:
